TASP Diversity Scholarship 2022

The TASP Diversity Scholarship was established to assist in meeting the need for increasing the number of LGBTQ+, as well as culturally and diverse school psychologists enrolled in the Texas Association School Psychologists (TASP). It is the intent of TASP to promote opportunities for the recruitment of school psychologists responsive to the children who are part of the increasingly growing diverse population of Texas. The scholarship will be awarded to one current school psychology graduate student and one school psychology professional of diverse groups. This scholarship will aid in funding two year's membership for TASP.

To be considered for this scholarship, the candidate must:

  • Be a part of a diverse minoritized group (e.g., a minoritized group includes LGBTQ+, those with disabilities, as well as culturally and linguistically diverse populations)

  • Be a full-time or part-time student. Students enrolled in doctoral programs and specialist level (or equivalent) school psychology training programs will be considered. 

OR

  • Be a full-time or part-time professional. Professionals include those working in the public education system, private schools, academia, private practice, etc. 

Applications must be submitted by September 30, 2022

 

Scholarship application requirements:

  • Two letters of recommendation for students (school psychology professors)

  • Two letters of recommendation for professionals (colleague and supervisor) 

  • Resume

  • Personal statement (250 words) includes current or future goals as a school psychologist and the role TASP can or does play in your career

  • Evidence of past community involvement of responsive and advocacy of children and families of diverse backgrounds

  • Evidence of motivation of commitment or passion for working as a change agent
